Received Spotlights are visible to recipients and their supervisors, and serve as a way to highlight the exemplary efforts, projects, and contributions being made throughout the school.   Reasons to shine a spotlight include (but are not limited to): - Witnessing someone going above and beyond the call of duty. - Observing an exceptional lesson, student collaboration, or project. - A colleague demonstrating courage or leadership during challenging times to benefit the school and students. - Collaborating with someone who exemplifies your school’s mission and core values. Shining a Spotlight is a simple way to make someone's day by recognizing their work and acknowledging them as a valued member of the school community.  [Spotlights Video](https://biteable.com/watch/4421785/6bef47cb88f728cd6b75043f371a8c4e) on [Biteable](https://biteable.com). ### How-to Shine a Spotlight  There are two ways to shine a Spotlight on the myFolio platform: from the Homepage and from the School Directory page.  #### **From the Homepage** - Click on the “Shine a Spotlight” widget. - Click the "Select a recipient" drop-down and start typing the person's name.    - Click their name to select them, enter your Spotlight, and click "Send" to Shine the Spotlight. #### ![1Homepage](https://blog.foliocollaborative.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Updated%20Support%20Articles%20Images/1Homepage.png?width=2870&height=1336&name=1Homepage.png)   #### **![2Send Spotlight](https://blog.foliocollaborative.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Updated%20Support%20Articles%20Images/2Send%20Spotlight.png?width=2856&height=1356&name=2Send%20Spotlight.png)** #### **From the School Directory Page** - Click "School" on the top navigation bar to navigate to the School Directory Page. - Search for the person you would like to Shine a Spotlight on via the Filter search box. - Click on "Shine a Spotlight", enter your message, and click "Send".  ![8spotlight directory](https://blog.foliocollaborative.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Updated%20Support%20Articles%20Images/8spotlight%20directory.png?width=2858&height=636&name=8spotlight%20directory.png)   ![9spotlight search and send](https://blog.foliocollaborative.org/hs-fs/hubfs/Updated%20Support%20Articles%20Images/9spotlight%20search%20and%20send.png?width=2858&height=1452&name=9spotlight%20search%20and%20send.png) #### About the author Folio Support [Follow me on my website](https://blog.foliocollaborative.org/support) [Follow me on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/foliocollaborative/) The team behind technical support to myFolio!
