Logging in

The first time you sign in, you will need to provide an email address and password.

EMAIL:  this is your school email address

PASSWORD:  Ask your myFolio School Admin what your password is, or click the "Forgot your password?" link to reset your password.

Once you complete this, Folio will prompt you to immediately change your password.  Please select a secure one that you will remember.

The Folio Homepage

The first page you will see is the Homepage.  It is a page that gives you an overview of your myFolio account.  There is the Community Posts area in the center of the page.  Other key items are in the left and right sidebars.

Completing Your Profile

To begin, click your name in the top menu.  On the left-hand side of this page there is a module called “Complete your profile.”  This will walk you through the profile items you will need to fill out to complete your profile.  These items (except for Goals)  can also be found by clicking “About.”  Goals are their own menu item between About and Notes.

Clicking “About” brings you to the profile sections you will need to complete.  These sections are entitled “Overview,” “Education”, “Five Words,” “Work”, “Accomplishments Personal/Professional” and “Narrative.”   An additional Profile Component called “Additional Information” may also be enabled by your myFolio Admin.  If so, they may provide a customized label and instructions for your review.  Check with your Folio Admin on this component.

1) “Overview”

This section is general information about you.  Some of the material has been entered for you, but please take the opportunity to add to this and complete the “History” section.  The “History” section, this is a list of relative job experiences.  Your time here has already been listed, but add other posts.

2) “Education”

In the “Education” section, list all your educational degrees, if any.  Don’t worry about order, as myFolio will automatically place them in chronological order.  You can also add micro-degrees/certifications in this section.

3) “Five Words”

This section is designed for you to select words/adjectives that embody you as a person and educator.  Hit the “Edit Five Words” button in the top right-hand corner and you can type in your five words.  Make sure to save them.

4) “Work”

Here, you can add your work history, as far back as you like.  An entry for your current school has already been created based on the year you were hired. You can edit this entry to add your current Position Title.

5) “Accomplishments Personal/Professional”

This section is separated into Personal and Professional Accomplishments.  Hit the “Edit Accomplishments” button in the top right-hand corner and you can type in your accomplishments, making sure to save your work.

6) “Narrative”

The “Narrative” section is an opportunity for you to reflect on your educational experience and share your educational philosophy.  Make sure your statement is at least 100 words and that you save it before leaving this page.

7) “Additional Information”

This section is designed for your Admin team to customize for your school’s needs.  It could be used for a position description, documentation of a Five Year Plan, etc.  The label of this page may be changed to reflect your school’s implementation plans.   Check with your myFolio Admin on how to complete this component.

8)  “Goals”

As mentioned before Goals are their own menu item between About and Notes. The section is designed for you to add your professional goals and action items for the upcoming school year.  Hit the “Edit Goals” menu item and then the “Add Goal” button. You can then type in your goals and action items and add resources, making sure to save your work.
