Description and Utility
myFolio users have two options for setting Goals within the platform: the Goal Wizard or a Self-Guided Goal.
Goal Wizard: Default setting that walks users through each step of the Goal setting process with guiding prompts. For information on customizing the Goal Wizard prompts visit the Customizing the Goal Wizard resource article.
Self-Guided Goal: Allows schools to bypass the Goal Wizard prompts for a more streamlined goal creation process. Users fill out goals via a one-page form without any coaching prompts.
- The Self-Guided Goal option retains all of the features of the Goal Wizard, such as associating your Goal with a Theme (or Category), adding action items, and setting check-in frequency.
Setting up the Goal Wizard and Self-Guided Goals
The myFolio admin has the option of allowing users to create goals using just the Goal Wizard, just Self-Guided Goals, or both. In order to designate your preferred settings, you will need to navigate to the Goals Wizard Customizations page by selecting "Goal Wizard Manager" from the the Manage dropdown. Once on the Goals Wizard Customizations page, you can toggle both options on or off, in addition to customizing any editable content. Be sure to click on the blue Update button at the bottom of the screen to save your selections.
Creating Goals
myFolio users can create new goals from either the Homepage or their individual Profile page. On either page, click on the "Add a Goal" button to begin the goal writing process.
- When both the Goal Wizard and the Self-Guided Goal options are enabled, an "Add Self-Guided Goal" button will appear on the "Welcome!" step of the Goal Wizard pop-up.
- Clicking this button will bring you to the Self-Guided Goal page.
- Clicking the "Next" button will start the Goal Wizard steps.
- If only the Goal Wizard option is enabled, the Welcome pop-up will appear without the "Add Self-Guided Goal" button.
- If only the Self-Guided Goal option is enabled, users will navigate to the Self-Guided Goal page upon clicking the "Add Goal" button.
- Goals created via either option will all appear together on the Goals section of the Profile page.
