Updated Default Prompts in step 4 of the myFolio Goal Wizard
After receiving feedback from users, the default prompts used in the Goal Question/Statement have been updated. We updated the default language for the Wizard so that each published Goal shows the users' approach to accomplishing their Goal and the impact it will have. The help text has also been slightly updated to align with the updated prompts.
This change did remove the “How might I…” and “In order too…” prompts. In their place are “What are you going to do or adjust to address this?” and “Identify the desired impact…”. We still encourage writing Goals as questions, if you have found this method successful with your faculty and staff. The updated default questions are intended to still work as prompts for creating an How Might I/ In Order To question. What are you going to do or adjust= how might I or, said another way, what you want to accomplish. The desired impact= in order to or, why does this matter.
This resource explains more about why we structure Goals as questions.
The myFolio admin can also use the Goal Wizard Manager to add back in the “How Might I” “In Order To” prompts by following these steps:
- Click Manage
- Click Goal Wizard manager
- Scroll down to Editable Content for Step 4
- Update Line 1 Label and Line 2 Label

If your school has customized these prompts, there is no change. Your employees will see your school’s customized prompts.
