Permissions

Written by Folio Support | Jul 9, 2026 6:14:34 PM

The Permissions Manager page allows the myFolio Admin to assign the three myFolio permission levels to any myFolio user. You can reach this page by clicking "Manage" then selecting "Permissions" from the drop-down options. The three permission levels are myFolio Admin, myFolio System Support, and School Viewer.

At least one user at the school needs to be designated as a myFolio Admin. Users can also be designated as myFolio System Support or School Viewer, but these designations are not required.

Levels and Their Permissions in myFolio

myFolio Admin

  • The myFolio Admin has the highest permissions in myFolio, having access to both all of the administrative functions as well as access to user profiles, goals, notes (but not survey results.)
  • The myFolio Admin configures myFolio based on philosophy-related school decisions.

myFolio System Support

  • The myFolio System Support can act as an assistant, or helper to the myFolio Admin. They can edit and update the following features:
    • Collaborations
    • Focus Settings
    • Goal Templates
    • Group Builder
    • Group Viewers
    • Marking Periods
    • Milestone Deadlines
    • Note Templates
    • Password Reset
    • Relationships (for Surveys)
    • Resources
  • This role can add and remove employees, create and manage templates, and build and setup student, supervisor, and peer surveys. This role cannot view profiles, goals, notes, or survey results for other users.

School Viewer

  • The School Viewer has permission to view all user profiles, goals, notes and survey results. They can not create notes for users that are not in their supervisory chain. This role cannot manage employees, templates, surveys, or platform settings.
