Garet Libbey is an executive leadership coach and consultant. Her company, Garet Libbey Consulting, is dedicated to empowering education professionals through leadership development and coaching. Garet collaborates with leaders to help them embrace their power with curiosity and empathy, focusing particularly on supporting women leaders, aspiring leaders, and those in transition. Her coaching emphasizes goal setting, leveraging values and purpose, enhancing leadership presence, and achieving a balance between professional and personal life.
With over 25 years in education, Garet has served in various leadership roles, from classroom teacher to senior administrator, most recently at Hawken School in Cleveland, Ohio, where she worked for 17 years. She has led curricular design, developed and implemented diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) programs, designed and managed recruitment and hiring processes, and transformed talent management systems. Throughout her career, Garet has been committed to creating spaces for growth and learning, guiding individuals, groups, and leadership teams through change, and fostering healthy, inclusive cultures. Currently, she consults and coaches in the education and nonprofit sectors, specializing in talent management and leadership development.
Garet is a trained Co-Active Training Institute leadership coach, has a Master’s in Education, Administration, and Social Policy from Harvard University, a Master’s in Teaching from Seattle University, and a BA in History and Women’s Studies from Williams College.
